The Sian Ka’an Reserve (in Mayan: Sian Ka’an, ‘gate of heaven’ ‘place where the sky begins’) is a protected natural space that is located on the Caribbean coast of the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987.
On the coast of this Biosphere Reserve there are wide white sand beaches, small bays and mangroves, among other ecological systems. Each of these spaces houses different types of fauna. The weather is warm subhumid, and the rainy season occurs during the summer.
Our excursion to the Biosphere of Sian Ka´an includes a guide who will explain about the history and secrets of this wonderful place, we will visit 2 lagoons and a small temple of the ancient Mayan culture, which lets us know the importance of this route they used to connect with the sea. At this point we can have a little time to have a snack and prepare to float through one of the channels where you will live an unparalleled experience that will last about 35 minutes, where you can appreciate this wonder in all its natural beauty. The water tour lasts between 2.5 and 3 hours. And round trip transportation 4 hours. Making time an average 7-hour tour.
